Lymphedema in breast ???
Does anyone have any suggestions for relief ?
I don’t know if I’m just grabbing at straws before the ct in November my breast and armpit swells and becomes hot and painful its not all the time though. I can start the day with my 1 breast smaller then the other thanks to breast conserving surgery but by the end of the day its bigger than my the other one and the hole/ dent is deeper.
Sometimes the swelling settles overnight sometimes a couple of days
i can go a day or so and there’s no swelling

My arm and hand doesn’t seem to be swelling like it did in the beginning

- oh dear @cranky_granny - I always prefer 'older' technicians as well - they are usually way more empathetic than the younger ones ..... I have my 'favourite' ultrasound BC tech - and I have asked for her by name for the last 4 years - and this year she did both my US AND MG! Double bonus!
Is the swelling boob a reconstructed one? It could be a problem with the actual implant? How long ago did you have it? Do you know what brand it is? Some have been removed due to problems.
What treatment are you currently on? All the best for your appt with the Onc xx - Update from scans

as for the swelling boob issue ultra sound showed nothing the US tech was rude and rushed. Apparently I don’t need to worry boobs change as you get older. Young little brat she was. I hope she never does a mammogram on me. My sense of humour might not get me through it.Good news is most of my organs all normal

I see oncologist on Thursday as to what next ???GP said leave the further investigation up to Clinic to go over - Thanks Kristen tests are coming up on Monday 8th. if it is lymphedema which will be the better, result I’ll certainly be looking into better treatment than what i have been doing
- Haddenham have new product called comfiwave breast texture garment that is great for at home wear for lymphatic swelling in breast, there are also other brands of texture pads if it is lymphatic swelling. See your doctor , OT or lympahtic therpaist for more info & diagnosis.Aloso if there is a sozo /impedimed machine near you ,you can get a 'water' measurement , then follow up in 3 mths and see if it changes.this can help detect lymphoedma before it even shows.Really important to act on any swelling and start to learn how to move the lymph fluid yourself at home everyday so it doesn't block up.The tighter it gets , the harder it is to move.Plus you don't want to risk dreaded cellulitis infections which require fast antibiotics.BTW Anyone who has lymphoedema & /or lipodema may be interested to know about this live event and its really very valuable information to help with managing the chronic condition.virtual information day by the Lymphoedema Support Group of NSW Inc Saturday, 6th November 2021 9.45am – 2.00pmAustralian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT)

- I have seroma in both breasts and my oncologist and surgeon are monitoring, nothing sinister happened yet! @Afraser I haven't had any swooshing going on, so that is a blessing!
- SO Glad to hear it, @cranky_granny - and it definitely needs a hands on visit - not a tele-consult!
Like any test - CPR levels are only an indication ... but once you work out/observe your 'norm' .... if it rises substantially (as happened with @Fraser) then you know it is time to actively agitate for further investigations, if your GP doesn't automatically do it. xx

My third seroma induced infection landed me in hospital with a CPR of 305. I’d never heard of it before that. Worth the time, even the cost, of a check. - Thanks everyone. Im hope to be seeing my GP on Saturday. Surely the tele consults are only by choice now
- Nup, it is not on there @cranky_granny - maybe ask for it to be added to your next one? It doesn't hurt to keep an eye on it! xx. CPR - the GP/Dr will know what it is.
I hope you get checked out SOON, as you should NOT have to wait til Nov when the swelling and pain is happening NOW.
Anything HOT usually indicates some sort of infection .... so it is VERY important you get checked out! xx. Take care xx
