@"deepti.sinha" Hi there! and welcome, there's been a lot of great sharing already. I just wanted to say as I have done both options. In 2011 I had DCIS and had a lumpectomy, radiation and hormone therapy but 4yrs later I had a recurrence in exactly the same spot. So in 2015 I had another lumpectomy as Im big breasted, chemo and put onto Arimidex as Tamoxifen stopped working. In February 2016 I had a single mastectomy/diep flap reconstruction 1yr after treatment. It was an agonising decision to make as I was completely clear but didnt want to risk another recurrence. I haven't looked back, knowing how I look now I wouldve opted at DCIS for this surgery and saved me anything further. However I think we make the right decisions at the right time and I wasnt ready at the time. It really depends on your diagnosis but some valid points for both. All the best in your decision.
