Low white cells 2 months after chemo

I learn something new every day. Apparently two months after chemo is finished you can still have low white blood cells. No wonder I can't get rid of this 2 week old head and chest cold. Dr said whatever you do don't get pneumonia and gave me some antibiotics and even a repeat if I need it. I was told to have a high protein diet. Apparently jelly donuts don't factor into that high protein diet lol. Nice try.

  • That sounds terrible

Have you asked them to check your Vitamin D? Apprently it is essential for our immune system to finction and the first to go come autumn.

My mum.suffers from an autoimmune disease and has to have injections of it before any surgeries and in winter as otherwise her count pretty much sits on 0.

But those injections are like a mirracle drug and het her system perked up and immunity boosts in a matter of days.

Please have a chat to your GP about it - it might help
