Living in the tropics!

OK so I'm 2 weeks into Tamoxifen and Zoladex.  No crazy side effects yet other than living every day like I'm in the south pacific!  Far out, I'm having hilarious hot flushes at any time of the day.  Through chemo I had them overnight but now they appear all the time!  I had double positive BC so can't take anything estregen based ... my naturopath suggested I 'wear less clothes.'  Which is a good idea unless you're already walking around in the middle of winter in shorts and a singlet!  I don't think going to Woolie's naked is an option so does anyone have any suggestions?  It's not unbearable ... in fact I'm finding it rather amusing.

Like you, I'm not going anywhere near anything with oestrogen in it.  I'm doing hot flushes cold turkey.  Won't even have soy so no more salt and pepper tofu from the local takeaway.

My hints are to wear cotton and avoid synthetic fabrics that don't breathe.  Keep cool water on hand as I find that hitting my stomach with cold water at the same time I'm having a flush makes it more bearable.  I have an eau de toilette handy.  It might be just psychological but if feels better if I spray during or after a flush.

Good luck.  I've been on Tamoxifen since February and I think the hot flushes are getting fewer.
