Hi all,I've been doing chemo (Abraxane) for around 8 weeks now for my numerous mets. The tumour in the lymph nodes in my chest had started to grow so the oncologist thought chemo was needed. I've been tolerating the Abraxane quite well except for some pain in my stomach & in my back. The oncologist thought it might be gall stones so sent me off to do an ultrasound. The next day he called & said no gall stones but there is something going on in the liver. He advised an urgent CT scan. I went to do a CT scan today & see the oncologist tomorrow. I am not sure what to make of this development. I knew the cancer was in my right liver. I've known for over 18 months now. I thought the oncologist knew too. But when I talked to the onc over the phone he implied that this was something new. So I'm very confused. I am now wondering if has been testing the liver at all over the last 18 months. If he hasn't then the mets in my liver could have been growing without us knowing. I am frustrated with doctors! I am scared about what he will tell me tomorrow. Ange

Hi Ange.Sorry to hear that you are having such a confusing time. I think we all become hypersensitive to everything that our doctors tell us once we are on this path and sometimes they are not clear in what they tell us. I had a bone scan and ct again last Friday and of course straight away began to worry when the Radiologist asked me to wait and get a copy of the images on disk to give to my doctor then asked how long until I'm seeing him. Like you my brain goes into overdrive of " what ifs" but what I try to keep,reminding myself is that no amount of stressing or second guessing the results is going to change the outcome. All it will do is rob me of enjoying my time right here right now. I hope you get a clearer picture from your doctor tomorrow and can know what is going on. Please let us know how you get on. I've just come back from the oncologist. The mets in my liver are growing. The chemo has failed & will stop. Need to do a liver biopsy on Thursday to figure out next steps. Feeling very flat. I'm running out of options to beat this disease.

Liver issues ??

Angg66 I am saddened to hear of a new challenge to face. This road is an absolute nightmare at times. I will pray for a calm for you amidst the turmoil. That you can anchor you whirring thoughts and worries in a safe place ... whatever or wherever or with whom ever this might be.. Big Hugs...
