Live resource for breast reconstruction

To all you wonderful ladies who like helping others,

due to my personal difficulties around planning breast reconstruction I have started a private blog called Breast Reconstruction (original name I know). This is a place where women can share their personal stories and images of their experiences for others to gain information and support.

There are currently over 100 members sharing their wisdom and gaining great support as they go through their procedures.

The beauty of this blog is that ladies can read stories and view images and chat with the member sharing. This free and accessible resource is greatly appreciated by all those ladies involved.  Some ladies may have had their reconstructions years ago and are joining just to share as they know how limited the information out there is on this topic.

Members have said:

Thanks for your photo diary, it's helped me already more than you know.

Thanks so much for sharing your story. At the plastic surgeon you only get to see final, well healed pictures and none of the belly. Posts from you have really made a difference as I feel I have a much better understanding of what to expect in hospital & don't feel quite so nervous.

I am slowly making my way through all the posts and photos. The photos are especially helpful. Thank you all so much for your frank and honest stories. I know I will find this page invaluable.

Conversations on the blog include:

·         Photo stories

·         Implant and tissue transfer reconstruction

·         Radiation and its effects on reconstruction

·         Nipple reconstruction and nipple tattoos

·         Pre-operative and post-operative tips

·         Breast reconstruction resources from the Australian media

In your travels and commitments as a Community Liaison I hope you will share this new live resource with ladies who are contemplating breast reconstruction.

This is the link, if you refer ladies they can find the blog by searching 'find groups', and request membership.

If you want to share your story

Some CL's are already members of this group, thank you beautiful ladies, and we are always looking for more people to share, so if you are interested in sharing your breast reconstruction story with pictures and willing to answer questions from time to time, please follow the link and request membership,

warmest regards, Louise
