Lip and skin break out

Hi Ladies

Hoping someone may be able to help. I have had 3 FEC treatments. My lips are driving me nuts. Have had blisters breaking out for 4 weeks but can not seem to get them to heal. Have tried a number of things like paw paw cream, blistex, savlon and be parham. During the night the lips stick together then the lips bleed and during the day the top comes off the blisters. Top lip is okay but whole of bottom lip is a mess. I am a bit concerned as in a week my treatment changes to Tac and I need to clear up the lips before the body get attacked again.

I also have a large break out of large pimples on my arms and back. Is this normal side affect? I will contact my Dr but I was hoping someone may have had similar problems with their skin. I am finding it harder after each treatment but I guess I doing it a lot better than most.

Thinking of all my fellow pink ladies and wishing you all the best journey you can have.

Love Janine

  • Hi Helen

Sorry it has taken so long to reply. I had been using Aloe Vera but didn't seem to help. I am have always used it as my daily face and arm treatment every day. I did find the cold sore patches at least helped stop the lips sticking together during the night. It has been a very long process but regular (every hour) application of pawpaw cream during the day they are almost okay. I posted some info today about Tax which helps explain my I have had so strange side effects. Thank God the Dr is reducing my doses because I think this would be all too hard.

Hope all is going well with you.

    Regards The J

  • My hair on the way back now . I am starting to feel better and have three weeks of radiation left . Gosh though it hits you hard with all the stuff you have to deal with. Great to get on here and chat to others that know what your going though. Mine was TNBC so no hormone for me only chemo and radiation.

  • I have 3 more chemo. Will be finished in November, so should have a little hair by Christmas. No radiation but 5 years hormone treatment. All the best.

  • I am having radiation now not so bad on the body. I had few skin pimples a well seemed to settle then would get red again not itchy or sore on my body they were. Still have some now suppose they were a reaction to the chemo actually some have reddened again thought maybe because of radiation will pass it by my oncologist this week. Maybe aloe Vera might help the lips? How many treatments are you having? All the best.
  • Thank you, I am now trying the cold sore patch. They seem to help to stop the breaking of the skin and bleeding as well as stopping the lips sticking together during the night. I agree the biotine products work really well for inside the mouth. My breakouts of the skin seem to be less inflamed so as my bloods get better so are they until the next hit. I trust your journey is going to plan. Janine

  • I didn't have blisters but very dry mouth of a night . Used the biotine mouthwash before bed and put the liquid gel on my lips. Someone said frozen pineapple pieces was good but might ouch on the lips. Wishing you well with your journey.
