Hi
I am so sorry for not keeping you all up to date.
Things with my darling boy are positve this far. He can walk but very staggery (kind of looks like he has had a few to many beers) But I am sooooo happy to see him not so dependant on a wheel chair.
We have spent a fair amount of time back at hospital as he also had to have his tonsils adnoids and grommets in as well as draining his ears.
My boy is so much braver and stronger than me. He has endured so much in his life already.
He gives me the strength to keep going and is an inspiration to me. He gives anything ago even if it means a few scraps and tumbles but he keeps trying.
He may need another shunt put in as ther eis a bit of fluid build up in the top part of his brian that the one shunt isnt draining all out. And prob will need eye surgery to try and correct his vision. :(
Rehab team are so happy to see him moving forward. Im kind of the helicopter mum lol (all of you who seen that Packed to the Rafters episode will follow that meaning lol) We have had a play date at a friends family day care to try and get Sam into mixing with other boys and kids etc. As he is easily knocked over I am a bit ahhh careful Sam lol but he tells me "Im okay Mummy" seems to have no fear now.
He has still got about the size of 2 sprinkles like you put on cakes left of tumour so he has to be very closely monitored that it stays the same or shrinks and has an MRI about every 2 to 3 months.
I have been told I most likely will get to try to have another tissue expander put in in Feb 2012. But Sam also has his next MRI than and my baby girl is 2 and we spent her first bday in hospital so I hope I dont spend her 2nd one there.
So thats a quick update for now but will be back in Bris for more check ups for Sam in approx 2 weeks so will try and get on and give you lovely people an update.
Take care everyone and I love this site so much !!! XoxoxoX
