Latest Scan Results

Had Liver U/S nearly 4 weeks ago which suggested development of new liver mets in early stages but needed followup with CT Scan to clarify. Had CT of the Chest/Abdo and Pelvis which I noted on review had questionable quality(yes I can read scans). The results of CT stated old liver mets gone and no new. Although I was aware of the questionable quaility and still planned to followup with oncologist on appointed time I allowed myself to get excited that I had some regression. Yesterday however with folllowup with oncologist and His reviews with radiographer it was suggested Liver U/S still accurate and CT inaccurate( when scan was done they didnt allow enough time for the die to penetrate my body!! Annoying Hey - especially when I was trying hard to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.). Oncologist wants to wait 4 weeks and monitor by repeat liver U/S. If growth minimal we will hold off chemo until pace of growth changes.

I still remain optimistic that CT could be correct but plan to pull back and rest my body more over the next month.

Would like to stay off chemo as long as possible but happy at same time I had 15 months rest of it which has been great.

  • I hope the CT is correct! It's never fun when there is lack of clarity but then there is an upside too - if they can't decide then it can't be too bad either.  Be well.
