I had a spike of high temp of 38.8 just before we sat down to a very special yummy bbq on Sunday night that my brother inlaw had cooked special for me. Needless to say I wasn't going anywhere until I had eaten my much craved bbq tea. I took my beanie off and jacket it off and ate my dinner. After dinner I took temp again and it was down to 37.7. I was glad I didn't waste my lovely dinner and waited for a little while.
I would have to make a decision also of going to our local ED or travelling 1 hour away to the Regional but luckily I didn't need to make that choice. As my Oncologist said it would be the same IV antibiotic type I would get at my local ED as it would be at the Regional??
I did have my emergency bag packed, my medication all packed, I also showered and put on a "nice" pair of pj's before going to bed that night......just incase but I was one of the lucky ones. Thank goodness. Unfortunately we aren't all as lucky as I was that night :-(
