lat dorsi reconstruction recovery

Hi, i am about to have lat dorsi reconstruction to my left side after losing my orinal implant recon on my left side to an unknown intrenal infection 2 1/2 years after it was put in. I have had bi lateral reconstruction 3yrs ago, but only the left side needs to be redone with lat dorsi as I am not healing internally as well as I should after losing the left implant May 2013. 

Can any one tell me what to expect during the early stages of recovery for this type of surgery?  i am concerned about my back and how mobile my left arm will be.

    That's exactly where I am today Jackie, in the air conditioning with my iPad. Not used to so many days of this heat wave here in Melbourne. 44 today and I'm quite nervous about bush fires. We were evacuated in the Black Saturday fires and this is bringing back unwanted memories of the day. Fingers crossed for both our States. Janey xxx

    thank you, found it!  Just a bit of sensory overload i think!  I am finding it all so helpful, that I think I'll be sitting at this lap top all day!  Much better than being out in the 42c heat here in adelaide :)

    Try this link Jackie. http://www.bcna.org.au/node/61026/blog/tag/reconstruction%20lat%20dorsi. It's a bit hard when you first start to find everything. When you are in the group page, go the the blog tab next to view at the top under the heading. The filters to search by tags are on the right hand side. You'll see lots of them and the 'reconstruction lat dorsi is down towards the bottom. I see that Sam (SamzRusty) has already made contact with you. She is great and I'm sure there will be others you can get in contact with too.

    Thank you for your comments Janey, it has been hard having to face the 4th surgery in almost 9 months.  Mum hasn't done well and has had many problems exacerbated by the chemo and it is hard when most of your family is so far away.  But I am determined that sugery no. 9 will be a success :) 

    I can't seem to find other posts about lat dorsi, am I just being a bit blind?

    I just read your story which sounded like you were well and truly at the end of your journey at that time and now to have to 'revisit' with trouble with your left implant and more surgery looming. You poor darling. Glad you found the Breast Reconstruction group. I'm sure you'll find a lot of women who you can relate to. Louie is a gem for starting the group and it has grown (rather sadly) and grown in the past few months. She is constantly bringing new information and helping many ladies here. How is your mum doing now? I would imaging that is was rough going through BC at the same time. You must miss you and your sisters being on the other side of the world. I agree with Louie that your profile pic is lovely. It shows a happy, fun loving person and I hope everything goes well for your coming surgery. Lots of love Janey xxx

    Hi jackie, no worries at all. I have asked daina, the BCNA online guru to sort it. You might notice i deleted the content so responses will only be in the one. It is very easy to do multiple posts, sometimes you just dont know if the system is working. But it sometimes just takes a moment to register. You will get used to it.  Louie

    Hi Jackie, first of all, LOVE your profile photo.You look so happy and smiley.

    I havent had a lat dorsi, but many women on the Breast reconstruction online group have. I see you are a recent member, you could try posting this question there and we can direct you to women who have had this surgery and other helpful info.
