Last weekend before Chemo 2

Does anyone else find the search for members does not work? I have tried to request about 4 members in Perth in the hope they see me on line in the early hours and we can chat if anyone feels up to it. Steroids again Sunday and last and first round meant I was up all night for 4 nights straight and it's long and lonely and I am sure others would be up doing the same thing....I shaved my hair off yesterday as I was upset every time a long strand of unhealthy hair turned up somewhere in the home. I cried during the week but bought some cheapo clippers had two glasses of wine and shaved the lot off yesterday evening by myself. I have a 1cm fuzz which on mirror contact after shower this morning was then patchy as it's dropping fast.  It was empowering to take control and I highly recommend it. My work collogues arrived to day with a gorgerous pressie and huge 'get well card with many endearing messages". A beautiful Lucky Bamboo plant and a visa card for $200 fell out of the card .....God how generous and I feel a very special person. I knew it was happening so I had cooked a platter of 50 apple and date chocalate muffins dotted with strawberries for my two friends to take back to the office for afternoon tea. I received so many lovely emails I feel so specials and glad I came clean with work I first suggested to the DD I wanted it to be a secret and just suck my arm for a few more months. I laugh now and must have been in shock and denial as cancer does not go away I work in the city and these two came all the way down to Mandurah. It was truely lovely. We have the crab festival this weekend but my daughter who moved in from Canberra and debarked from her 15yr career with the RAF stuff arrived yesterday so we are having a massive Garage Sale as my son also moved his stuff in as he is moving to the Gold Coast on Wednesday.....there is nothing like being kept busy. To-day I made an Irish boiled bacon and pea soup with home made preservative free and full of pumkin seed loaf of bread and a couple of dozen suasage rolls (for the vistors) but some were left over so I thought soup. It's huge and will last me all of next week and gets better as it's reheated.

Everybody try and have a good weekend

Sarah you lovely Pinky Ladies

  • Hello Christine nice to meet you. As I broke my arm on Oct 25th last year and was in a lot of pain and inmobile first off I watched movies and read books far too much and I am just over it at the moment. I hope the desire will kick in but I just struggle even watching the news at 6pm. My arm was platted with screws on Feb 5th so I was able to start Chemo but it's still not in action and although much much better I still onlly have about 25% of use.

I have a kindle and in preparation have some amazing books ready to go but do you think I can turn it on...alas NO. Fingars crossed it will kick back in.as that would make insomnia so much easier. I stare into space a lot and I don't want too but that's what I find I am doing, How about you?

    kind regards Sarah
