Last Chemo:)
Well its not long till my last Chemo (TAC) and I can't wait. Wierdly enough I'm really nervous of the last one...go figure? iI start radiotherapy 3 weeks after that and am wondering if anyone can giv...
Hi Holly
I just started radiation in Brisbane on 6th Jan and as Moira says it is nothing compared to chemo. So far all ok but have only had 4 sessions. Now have to contend with a wee bit of water between our house (about 25kms from Hospital) and the hospital. The hospital have been great ringing to check I was ok and advising about road closures all good at the moment. I think Moira has given you very sound advice about having later appointments I have mine after 6 pm as driving to the city and parking are all better and my hubbie can come too. They have appointments up to about 10pm except at the moment with the floods they are closing at 8pm. Where are you staying? If you want to give your friends a break I am always up for a coffee and a chat. Also we have the Strathpine Coffee club which meet every month so if you are up when we meet next you should come along it's a great get together.
My skin so far has been great slapping on the sorbolene can't see anything yet but the nurse tells me it takes 2 weeks before any redness appears.
I think you'll find this a lot easier at least there is no horrid mouth, no dexamethasone, no hair loss and my taste buds are beginning to like wine and beer again!!
Good luck and stay in touch.
