Last Chemo Today - Finally!!
Finished my last chemo today. 16 rounds combining 4 AC and 12 Paclitaxol.
This was the toughest thing I've ever done. I'm so proud of myself for getting through this and sitting in that chair every round. The first time in that chair was rough. I cried hysterically for 5 minutes begging my husband to let me run away, that I was desperate not to do it. He held me while I cried and then cried with me at my despair. I knew I was just crying because I was so overwhelmed with everything, I'd been diagnosed just 2 weeks before. I was so embarrassed but I just couldn't stop it. I ended up taking a larazapan, splashed some water on my face, put my big girl pants on, and just got on with business.
I took this attitude every week and it got easier. I knew what to expect, I knew how to manage the side effects, and I knew I had to do whatever it took to just get through.
AND I DID IT!!
It's not the end but I get to slam this chapter shut and not look back. Woo hoo!!!!

- Well done, you! As you say, we have little choice, but you have to go through it to know what it is like. Knowledge we could probably do without, but it does put some other 'problems' into perspective. Enjoy your treatment break. In my opinion, you've done the hard part. Marg xxx

- Thanks everyone. It felt so weird this morning knowing I won't be having any more chemo. Even though I still have 12 months of Herceptin so ongoing hospital visits. Still looking forward to my 6 weeks "off" before surgery.
