Hi Kato, good luck with your up coming surgery. I agree with Leonie about accepting that 2012 will be a bit of a lost year. Someone said that to me about last year, and it seems huge when you stand before it, but when you look back you realise that the time flies, even if you aren't having fun. Like you, I was diagnosed in late November, the year before you, and had the lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy in early December, only to return to have a mastectomy and more nodes removed in late December. ( I came out of hospital on Christmas day 2010 ). My lost year was 2011. I have had 4 rounds of chemo, opted for a second mastectomy in September, insertion of bilateral tissue expanders, and on Wednesday I will have the expanders removed and silicone implants inserted. For me it was important to try and contain all of this to 2011, so that I could look forward to 2012 being a good year and my new normal. The time has gone quickly, has certainly been " interesting", and I have met some of the most wonderful, strong and inspiring women along the way. I have become almost addicted to this site, where there is so much information and support from those who have been there before us.
