Just when things were going well....

Hi all,

It's been a long time since my last post but I trust all is well with everyone and you are all coping as well as can be expected.

I was looking forward to my last herceptin in mid September until last week when I found another lump in the same breast near my shoulder. Of course the mammogram didn't pick it up because it was too far up.

Off to see the GP last Thursday who has sent me for a ultrasound which I've booked for Mon pm. AARRGGH!

Hope it's nothing, pray it's nothing but deep down I am scared - more so than last time. I've also had a blood test for menopause. I think I've gone through it as I have had all the symptoms and no period for well over a year - not one spot!! I'm too young!!  48 next month!! Not sure I'm ready but nature sends us all these little curve balls once in a while.

Will keep you posted. I know I was so positive last time but I feel just a little vunerable and weaker this time. Shutting myself off from people and getting quite irritable with those around me. Things were going so well......

Take care all and am thinking of you all often

  • Just went through the same thing, had lump removed and it was a fibroid adenoma, they weren't sure at first so took it out and checked it, all clear.

I now have 1 Herceptin to go and am also in chemopause, find  it wonderfrul not having a period but miss my estrogen.

  • Dear Ali,

I'm so upset to hear this news about you, your always so positive but hopefully it will be all OK.  I will be saying prayers for you that it all amounts to just a scare.   As for the menapause thing I'm 47 & half & my periods returned last month & are on their way again  :-S  I thought I was going through menapause whilst I was going through Chemo & then no period for months & then wham there she is again.  I thought I had finished with it all...never mind!

Anyway thinking of you & wishing the brightest out come for your results on Monday.  Everything X!

    Brightest Blessings to you Sweetheart,

    Susan xxx

  • Oh bugger! You've gone through so much treatment and so close to the finish and now this.I hope it's nothing, but like you,I'd be worrying it was bc again. You can't help it and ofcourse you'd be on edge. Now you have to play the waiting game again-the game we've all come to hate.I'll be thinking of you on Monday-good luck and let us know how it goes.
