Just done Core biopsy

Ok ladies, so I'm new here. Not new to breast cancer as my mother and grandmother(dads side) have both had it. My Mum is still alive thankfully but dont want to worry her uneccssarily till i get my results.

I'm so very scared and quite alone - 45+ yrs old, recently separted but with my adorable 6 yr old living with me.

I know they say dont stress and think all the bad things but OMG this is so just not what I need right now. I cant even imagine how life will go if I test positive.

I could really do with some words of wisdom here on just keeping it all together in my head.

  • Thanks Tonya,

Especially for that 'its not a life sentence' piece. My mind is old school about cancer, youre so right, I need to remind myself its not necessarily the end. You girls are living proof of that as is my own Mum. Now, off for a walk in the brilliant sunshine ...... to breath and smell the roses. xx

  • So sorry to hear about your circumstances.I hope with all my heart that your biopsy results are clear and not cancer. But I know how difficult it is to stop the anxiety when waiting for test results. What has worked for me in the past is to stay VERY busy- clean out cupboards, anything! Or do things that help you relax eg a warm bath, walk the dog, a glass of red, talk to a friend- you will have your own ideas. No amount of worrying will change the results. If it does turn out to be cancer then just be reassured that it is not a death sentance. You will need your family for support and ofcourse you will have us,your pink sisters to talk to.I have had early bc twice -first time I was 47yrs and 2nd time I was 54yrs. It's been over 2yrs now and I am fine, leading a happy, healthy life. Thinking of you and sending a hug - let us know how you go with the biopsy results.
