Just Diagnosed
Hi to all.
This is my first post. Was just diagnosed last Monday with a invasive ductal carcinoma.
My mind seemed to cope okay at first, then my body decided to fall apart on me. It's been a har...
I was given a choice of lumpectomy or mastectomy,but the surgeon also pointed out that my lump was directly behind the nipple and very deep.When I said mastectomy,he said,' I think you have made the right decision'. I had never been in hospital before,not for anything!! I am 60 years of age.I was so scared,but I can tell you that a mastectomy is relatively pain free!! Just Panadol after the first day,and as long as you do your exercises( VERY IMPORTANT) you should avoid stiffness in your arm,and get back to normal pretty quickly.That was how it was for me anyway:):)Cheers Robyn
