Just a question

Has anyone had any experience with the drug Giotrif? Apparently it targets a mutant gene, but some of the possible side effects sound like a challenge. I was hoping the gene would supply super powers but no go with that!

I started with breast cancer 5 years ago, bone cancer2.5years ago, Primary lung last October, 6 months chemo which did not work, 2 weeks ago brain cancer, 4 of 10rad treatments so far, will go with this drug for now, but if the side effects get to bad will just go with the flow so to speak

  • Dear Ketrae,

Thanks very much for your blog post. It's Lisa from the Policy Team. We understand that there have been several clinical trials which have looked at Giotrif in relation to secondary breast cancer. However, it is not currently approved for use in Australia for breast cancer.

For more information about the results of these clinical trials and whether it might be an option for you, it would be best to talk to you medical oncologist.

    Warm regards,
    Lisa
