Joint pain and arimidex

No I haven't been taking the Fish Oil but went and bought some today, however now I am concered as I have high blood pressure. I bought Fish Oil 2000mg not Krill should that be ok?

I just put a post up saying all is well except for the bone pain, and yes I am on Arimidex too. I have tried the Panadol Osteo and it only gives minimal relief I find the pain keeps me awake at night, I also get muscle fatigue.

I have been on this for about 3 months now and to start with it was fine, it seems to be a build up so Sue you should be right with your holiday.

My guess is that we just have to live with it and hoinestly its better than the alternative.

Hi Sue, I have gone from Tamoxifen to Arimidex, some side effects whilst on Tamoxifen, but after about 2 weeks of Arimidex I have ticked all the boxes for the side effects.  I take 2 panadol osteo 3 times a day, along with 4 fish oil, 2 calcium tablets and glucosamine.  My oncologist said to start it in summer as the cold weather is harder on joints.  I have always worked hard and my hip, knee and elbow joints were not that flash prior to all this.  But Arimidex is in every joint, being active helps, stiff in the morning, but once I get going it eases up.  The neck is the worst, when it is bad I add a couple of neurofen to the mix.  

I didn't have chemo, but had total hysterectomy with ovaries removed, creating surgical menopause overnight, so I think my body is in total estrogen depleted shock, like Leonie, I will keep taking this drug regardless of the pain.

Would really like to know if we have to put up with this for the total time on Arimidex? or does it get better as the body adjusts? Anyone out there that can help with this question???

It is also better to take it with your evening meal.

Good luck discussing it with your Oncologist.  Mine did ot want to take any responsibility for the aches and pains at all and wanting to change me over to Femara or something similar.  I figured I would stick to the "one challenge".  I have learnt to live with my pain by using minimal pain relief and keeping as active as possible.  I have found that with any medication there is always some kind of side effect.  My specialist surgeon encourages me to keep taking Arimidex as it appears to be keeping the bc at bay.  Good luck XLeonie
