Hi Viv,
No calcium but I do take glucosime, 2 krill oils a day and 2000 u Vit D all of which I was on before BC.
I was always a jogger (7 kms a day) until recently, then a walker (5 kms a day). The arthritis is probably the result of that wear and tear but I was managing it well until the 6 month period of arimidex. Now I cycle and lift weights, albeit small ones. Like you, after 6 months the hot flushes became more severe but the joint pain is the biggest issue for me. My plan is to suggest to the oncologist that I take arimidex every other day or perhaps for 3 months followed by a break and then 3 months etc. Should that fail, I will five up the drugs.
From my perspective, the drugs are simply just one insurance measure. If they continue to effect my quality of life, that is a measure I will give up and take a risk. I have never found surgery a problem and thus recover very quickly. Similarly, with the 6 weeks of frying, it had no obvious effects in that I kept walking every day and maintained my normal lifestyle. However, I did notice that i lost some body strength over that period, which the weights seem to be rebuilding.
