It's started!
I had almost started to make myself believe that I might not lose my hair after all...how silly! Even after a couple of beautiful people on this site shared their experiences I still hoped I wouldn'...
Hi Janet, I think patience is one of the biggest lessons we learn in our time battling this disease. While it won't be great to know though that it might take a while for my hair to grow back, it's good to know about it...that way hopefully I can be more prepared and patient. The heat of a Queensland summer is what made me originally think I would prefer the scarf/turban path. I really don't like the way I look in the "manufatured" ones I bought, but a scarf that was included looks quite nice and is nice and long so that I can wrap it around twice for more fullness. I think scarves alone would be cooler too. Last night we had a change in temperature and it got cooler and it was a surprise how much more I noticed it having no hair. I had to go and put my little cap on that the cancer Council sent me. (it is actually a nicer fit than the bought ones!) Will be looking for bright scarves for summer and on Monday will go shopping for my wig. I need to find my sense of humour again and really learn to have fun with this (hence the pink idea!). Let us know when your hair grows back properly! Thinking of you, Teresaxxx
