It's started!
I had almost started to make myself believe that I might not lose my hair after all...how silly! Even after a couple of beautiful people on this site shared their experiences I still hoped I wouldn'...
I had a friend who I decided to tell I had breast cancer, even though we hadnt had much to do with each other over the last couple of years. She had breast cancer about 2 years back, we had a couple of conversations about it then. Ive moved around a lot and I had found this particular friend a bit loud and boisterous, and bitter about men, so since I am happily married, we didnt have much incommon any more, friendship drifted.
What a mistake to have been intouch because for an hour, she delighted in painting the absolute worst picture she could about what I was in for! I even said after a half an hour - Ive got a head ache and am finding your brutal honesty a bit over the top. She must have felt it was a great opportunity to kick me while I was down, as a response to my lack of support during her time. I didnt appreciate her spitefullness and no doubt got her revenge. I wont be ringing her again.
I prefer to handle my situation with a fresh and positive environment - and negative comments arent necessary. Some people just dont think before we speak.
I intend to remain humourous and light about this situation (smiling).
