It's started!
I had almost started to make myself believe that I might not lose my hair after all...how silly! Even after a couple of beautiful people on this site shared their experiences I still hoped I wouldn'...
Couldn't have put it better Anne - we really don't have too much choice about the treatment, it isn't 'fun' but it's a year [or so] out of life and then [hopefully] all of us will return to 'normal' but we do have to keep a smile on our faces and enjoy each and every day . . . not so easy when your morning coffee tastes like . .. well, nothing and the toast is even worse!
I'm just so grateful that I was diagnosed at a time when the Dr's are able to help, absolutely fantastic nurses and able to 'chat' with those in a similar situation on-line. As Anne said, people try to help but they haven't been through it; a friend who has been through it has been my greatest support, takes me for coffee etc etc but unfortunately I can't clone her for you - if I could I would. Maybe your nearest BreastClinic can help when you are feeling 'down'? Even with BC everyones reaction to treatment is different; just believe that now it has started there will be a finish - your hair will grow back [rememer to try Indian head massage], tastebuds will return and your nails will look better [good reason to try out all those nail polishes!!] Just keep positive, if not then your online friends will be here to support you [and each other].
Take care, best wishes going out to all.
