It's started!
I had almost started to make myself believe that I might not lose my hair after all...how silly! Even after a couple of beautiful people on this site shared their experiences I still hoped I wouldn'...
So great to get your message Anne! I would have punched that woman too. People who haven't been touched by this illness honestly have no idea about what we are going through and how we feel. The two things that mean "woman" ( to me ) are our boobs and our hair. They shape us, define us and allow us to be feminine. I suppose there are those around who are decidedly un feminine...it may not bother them as much. And yes - I do know it will grow back as every one keeps reminding me. It's always the getting used to it part that is the hardest. Last year I was so thankful I didn't have to deal with any of this. Now that I have had BC in both breasts I may have to go down the mastectomy path in the future. My doctor has suggested I wait to make that decision and I'm so glad she did. How are you coping Anne? I feel for you right now. Keep in touch...let me know. I will be thinking of you. Teresa XXXX
