It's started!
I had almost started to make myself believe that I might not lose my hair after all...how silly! Even after a couple of beautiful people on this site shared their experiences I still hoped I wouldn'...
Thankyou Janet. It's so good to hear we are not alone in the way we think, however irrational that might be! It's interesting to hear you chose the wig route and were happy. I haven't gone shopping for mine yet as I'm still waiting for my voucher to help offset the cost. Not being able to work over this period has caused a drastic shift in the amount of money available! I originally thought scarves would be cooler for our hot Queensland summer too, and the ones I have bought do feel light. I posted on my facebook page how I was feeling yesterday, and had a very generous offer from one of my "friends", albeit one I have never even met! She shaved her head ( I still can't believe someone would do that willingly) for World's Greatest Shave ( a great cause for sure) a few years ago and has no more need of the wigs she used then and has offered them to me. She is blonde too, though many years younger than me, and a stunningly beautiful girl, so I'm sure I will enjoy wearing her gift. People are so amazing aren't they? I can then pass them on after I have finished with them.
I'm sorry your hair is taking so long to properly grow back. That must be hard to deal with.
Yes it sometimes is hard to remember why we are going through it all! I would prefer not to think about the cancer at all, but I keep getting put in my place!!! LOL. Thankyou again...it's so good to share. Teresa xxxx
