Hi T
My hair went day 13, after reading this forum I was pretty well prepared. I purchase head wear, ready made scarf look things, loved them online, hate them now.
I also found cheap cotton scarves at Tree of Life and Cotton On. These are great. I looked at you tube videos as to how to tie them, lots of different ways to flatter different faces. Great with little practice.
The Look Good Feel Better class also had head scarves and showed different methods and wigs. They were great.
Being summer my head gets very hot, so following comments on this forum, I opted for no wig at this stage. Too hot.
I have percerved with the head scarf going out and go bald at home and this works for me, but it took time to be used to it. I'm not working at present so not sure what ill do when I return to work.
I guess I just embraced it and chose to deal with losing my hair. The alternative of being constantly miserable would be no good for me or my family. And like you, I've had people say " it'll grow back, it's just hair", same as the comment about treatment " you'll be fine". That's true, but in the meantime we actually have to live day to day through these hardships. I miss my hair and how it made me look. But I have embraced a new style.
You have a great face for a pretty scarf, maybe see if you can find some tying techniques that suit you to at least give you an easy option in the heat. It's a long road before our hair returns. I can't remember who it was on this forum that said about head scarves, something like....it's about trying not to look like a bikey chick, a gypsy or a pirate that's the hard part!
Good luck with it, and maybe have some fun trying a new look you.
Louie
