It's mighty quiet out there!

Hi everyone -

Where is everybody? I thought we'd be chatting away about all sorts of things ... but then it's such a busy time of year as we gear up (or slow down!) for summer holidays and Christmas.

I visited the website for the Annual Conference for Young Women to be held in new Orleans in February next year and gosh, what an event that will be. So many topics up for discussion and many were dealing with some of those topics that we want to know more about but aren't always easy to discuss, for example sex and intimacy issues, how treatments for breast cancer can affect fertility and how do we tell our children, family and friends about our breast cancer, communicating to them how it is for us and how they can help us.

I wonder if anyone is planning to attend this conference next year? I think there may be some financial assistance packages available?

Hope you are all well.

  • Hi Maybe-A,

Good to hear from you! Thank you for writing and sharing some of your story. It is a long haul for sure, 6 months of chemo and then radiotherapy but it will be over ... keeping the positive outlook is important, and sounds like you  have some wonderful family and friends to help you through - blessings indeed!

I know it is very hard when you have young children - not only the physical demands of caring for the family as a Mum but also the emotional side too - it's not easy, trying to help young ones understand what is happening and at the same trying to keep yourself emotionally stable too.

    It's a tough road sometimes.
