It's like hurricane

It happened so fast. I don't think it's real when I waked up in the midnight. Have to wait a few second and touch my chest to confirm. This is such a hard confronting and this is just the beginning. I was diognose breast cancer last Friday and had a mastectomy on the following Tuesday. I am 34 years old and came to Australia 7 years ago. Now I have a 8 months old girl. Will go to see doctor to get the pathology test result and get the treatment plan on Tuesday. Want to come here to know others' stories so we can support each other.

  • Hi Julia, Great to get your message and it makes me feel being so supported. Want to know how did you go through chemotherapy and radiotherapy and I am so scare of them.
  • Hello,

I know exactly (as do we all)what it is like in the early days,-in many ways I think they can be the worst but you do get used to it and you will have a great team of experts to help you in all your decision making.

If you have not done so already ask to speak to your hospital Breast Care Nurse, they are a great resource.

It is a year now since my diagnosis and that time has flown and I am now feeling much better and looking forward to life after BC.

    Good Luck to us all!

    Julia
