It's hard
Well I've been teary today. Day 3 after AC chemo round 4 and after neulasta and feel like crap. I'm tired but sleep eludes. I get nauseas frequently but starving also and feel like nothing in the house. My body aches everywhere but especially my neck and upper body...I have to wear bras again at night to assist.
But of course the real blues is Cancer really sucks on Mothers day. I normally love cooking up a storm and just celebrating being a family....it seems to have sucked the joy out of it. My boys have tried their best...but what can you do. I miss my Mum who passed 8 years ago but equally glad she doesn't have to endure this with me...in person anyway.
All I can think of...this time next year it will be different....it seems like a long way off.
Hope you had a better Mother's Day.
Kath x

Actually had a poached egg today abd feeling a lot better...although still bloated. Managed some activity and a short trip out. Slept well last night...makes all the difference.

Hi Kath, it's always harder around special events like birthdays and Mothers Day when you're having chemo. You're limited in what you can do and feel like a worn out dish rag. Try having a boiled egg, it sounds weird, however it made a difference to my nausea, must be the protein. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ????????

Hi Kath. Can feel for you. I wonder what it is- i too was teary today and missed my Dad who passed away 14 yrs ago.
I am 2 chemos ahead of you. If you are having more chemo I hope it won't be as severe for you.

Hi Kath regardless of stage of treatment I think Mother's Day makes some of us teary. The wonderful fund raising and awareness campaigns that are highlighted today and the time of reflection of my journey thus far and the fact that both my Mum who passed away 8 years ago and my Mother inlaw who passed away 18 years ago are in my thoughts. Both had their cancer battle.
Add to it your stage of treatment feeling totally yuk!
Yes it is a teary day with aching bones but tomorrow will be better .
Hope your day improved and you found something like soup that you could enjoy.
Take care Christine xx

Oh Kath,
i so remember feeling this way and only being able to stomach lemonade icy poles for a week at a time. Cancer sucks on any day of the week but on special occasions it really does ram it home. It gets easier I promise. You mum is with you every step of the way. I know it seems like forever away but it really will be so different in 12 months and then 12 months again after that. Hang in there. Karen xox
