It's Been a While

Hi All,

It's been a long time since I've been on here. Have just been so busy with everything. Hope everyone is doing well & getting thru treament the best they can.

Thank you to everyone who replied to me 1st post & gave me great advise. It certainly helped me thru my 6 weeks of radiation.

I finished treament on 19 March & still getting use to not having to go to the hospital everyday. I've had weekley check ups & still getting my Portacath flushed out so I'm not totally away from the place.

I'm doing well & have gone back to work full time but just found out a girl I'm supoorting thru breast cancer had told me that the cancer gone to her brain & she's only got about 12 months. It's so sad & so unfair. She's got 2 very small kids & a hubby. I'm there for her all the way but I just don't know what to say to her.

Her news had really made me think about my life & I made me realise that even though I have gone thru the toughest thing I'll ever have to go thru, there is always someone worse than me out there & I'm so lucky & thankful that I'm ok. I hope that doesn't sound horrilbe or guilty.

To anyone who has or had a Portacath for chemo, how long did you wait to get it out? I'm still unsure of when to get it out as I don't have my scans til August & I'm a little scared to get ti out before then incase my scans don't go as well as I hope.

Anyway, off to cook dinner now. Everyone stay well & happy & look after yourselves.
