HI there @Hope2013 so sorry to hear that you are having a recurrence, but rest assured you will get plenty of advice on this forum, I'm 45 but I have a daughter whos 21 and as a mother I would be just devastated for you if you were my daughter. To be honest with you, if I had the gene regardless of age but particularly because you are so young and have so much life left to live I would recommend the mastectomy with the implants for sure and you seem to be worrying so much about getting it in the other side so if you wanted to think about the double that's great I know that's what I would suggest to my own daughter if it were her so trust your gut on that one, and would reduce your risk significantly.
Don't read too much into the implant horror stories there are far more positive ones than negative ones and if you have a good surgeon that you trust then they will take good care of you. As for you not getting married, goodness me my love you are gorgeous with or without boobs and when you find Mr right he will love you regardless, and as for the breast feeding, your baby will love you just the same whether she or he is breast fed or not. Many women are unable to breast feed for many reasons other than yours so please don't beat yourself up about that too, children need love and good quality baby formulas these days are as the closet you can get to breast milk anyway and you will still be able to bond with your baby. I take care of heaps of mums that bottle feed and they still have that magical bond with their child. You have plenty of time to think about marriage and babies just focus on yourself for now and I'm assuming you only need the surgery and no chemo?? Margie :)
