It all begins tomorrow!

Hi all, Last week I was diagnosed with HER2 positive, node positive high-grade breast cancer. I begin weekly chemotherapy tomorrow starting with a heart scan in the morning, followed by 3.5 hours of chemotherapy with Trastuzumab and Paclitaxel. Although I have be armed with loads of information about what to expect and great tips from other posts here, I was wondering if there were any tips for me for tomorrow? I figure it will be pretty boring and I'll have my partner with me, so any tips to avoid the "oh, I wish I thought to bring/do _____" would be great. Thanks!

  • Thanks,Robyn! I wouldn't have thought of a blanket, especially given it will be 38c here in Adelaide tomorrow!! The hospital is freezing though. I'm so glad you suggested that. I've stocked up on plenty of sparkling water in case I get sick of plain water. :) That's so sweet of your daughter! Good idea!
  • Yep,ipad, crosswords, book, lots of snacks and drinks,a blanket or rug, cause it can get really cold just sitting for so long, and something warm for your feet.( ug boots) Take photos, lots of them, cause it's really good to look back at this whole experience. My daughter photographed me every single day throughout my treatment.I used to complain about it,then she gave me a gorgeous hardcover book with hundreds of the photos in it,titled,'my mums a tough girl!' It is very special to me.All the best tomorrow.Remember to drink your water for the 3 days following chemo!!!Cheers xoxRobyn
