Best intentions. But no, it's not her job. Just as it's not the job of the chemist to suggest a generic prescription when they don't really know much about it except for the active ingredient being the same. The intention is pure (to save you money), just as the receptionist is providing information which is frequently correct. But not always. No point shooting the messenger, but worth remembering that we are not all the same and pushing the point where required.
