The treatment that you are referring to is an alternative therapy and not a proven cancer treatment. According to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, there is no clinical evidence to support this treatment . If you are considering this treatment, it would be advisable to speak with your medical oncologist. The same questions you ask regarding evidence based treatment would be the same questions to ask of this alternative treatment. According to the MSKCC information below it does have the side effect of lowering blood sugar levels. See the link below
