injections
Had a check up with the oncologist today and apparantly last round my blood count went REALLY low - so the day after my chemo this round I have to give myself an injection - something about neutrophi...
I had to do the neulasta injection too. It was a bit confronting to have to inject myself but it didn't really hurt - just a tiny pin prick - and fairly easy to do. It didn't reduce the side effects of chemo for me at all. I still felt like I had the flu for about six days after each chemo plus various other side effects. But I did not experience the bone pain or joint pain that some people mention in association with this injection. Hope it goes okay for you. At least you know that your immune system is getting a bit of boost and that you won't be so vulnerable to infections. Good luck Marg. It's a tough time you're going through but it does pass and life can get back to normal. Janet
