Infusa port

Yesterday (26/3/13) I went into Epworth Freemasons DPC to have an Infusa Port inserted as my veins have gone into hiding after four chemos. This is my third surgery there and the nursing staff are becoming very familiar! The care was fantastic the nurses in recovery are so caring. What I wasn't expecting was the pain in my right chest and collar bone. Even today it's still very sore. I also managed to throw up a couple of times which I have not done with any of the anaesthetics or chemos.

    Hi Cheryl,

    I had a porta cath put in about 3 months ago. I still find it very uncomfortable, but it does get better! It is definately worth it for taking bloods and getting chemo. Just remember to put HEAPS of numbing cream on it beforehand!
