Inflammatory Breast Cancer

Hi all

i have been given a clinic diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer together with three confirmed triple negative tumours. Does anyone else have a similar diagnosis and is there a pathology test for inflammatory BC? Thanks for any help. Lyn.
  • Thanks. Hard to get your head around so many different diagnosis isn't it..
  • @Moosie Mine was hormone neg her 2 pos but my sister in law's mum recently diagnosed with IBC. I don't think she had any biopsy done as there were no tumour seen but from the physical symptoms (skin like orange skin, hard breast) they concluded that. She has had scans done such as mammo and ultrasound and I think nothing could be seen. I think she had bone scan done and CT and those showed something. She is doing chemo.
  • Thanks. As we all know some days are just easier than others. I had my third dose of docetaxal on Friday and today the bone pain and fatigue have me a bit down.
  • Only pathology test I'm aware of is a skin biopsy but mostly it is on clinical presentation for diagnosis of inflammatory bc. Most are related I believe to underlying tumours blocking normal drainage etc...but not all are.

We all have differing diagnosis and our treatment is slightly different but at the end of the day it is breast cancer and we are here to support you through your journey. Kath x
  • Sorry to hear @Moosie. I have no answer to your question but I'm sorry to hear and hope others can help you.
