infection in right breast

I recently (19 days ago) i had a lumpectomy, and 4 nodes removed, i have been scheduled for chemotherapy on the 9th April, will my chemo go ahead if i have an infection in my right breast?

I have been on anitbiotics for 2 days now, i have not had a temperature, but my breast is very tender and feels hard where the tumor was removed, it actually feels worse this week than it did last week, i also have pain directly in the same place in my back (shoulder blade)....i am worried that my treatment wont go ahead as scheduled.

Do i speak to my specialist first or my oncologist....just want to get on with this and get it over and down with and get on with my life.

  • I got a infection under my arm from my dressing and I'm unable to start chemo till it's clear I see the oncologist next Tuesday so hopefully it's clear which I've been it clean and dressed fingers crossed ure chemo doesn't take to long to start

  • Before chemo you will see your onc and they will check your blood and temp etc. to make sure that you are ok to go ahead. However,if you are worried, you could just give them a call now.I would probably call if it were me.Take care.xoxRobyn
