In a jam

Ok so 2 weeks ago I found a lump in my breast, my period came and went and the lump still there I went to the doctor they felt it and ordered an ultrasound and mammogram I also had another doctor app this week regarding another thing different doctor they also felt it. So today was the day I was hoping for an answer but instead all I got was.....nothing showing up on either the ultrasound or mammogram, I know I'm not crazy as there're was 2 doctors plus myself who felt the lump...so instead of having a answer I m like how can it show up nothing I know it's there so I rang my doctor who ordered the tests and asked her so I have to wait until Wednesday next week to find out the results she did say a biopsy will be involved How can a lump be a no show on those I just don't get it.

  • Ok so I had my appointment today as a follow up from the mammogram and ultrasound last Thursday .....today she said that it's most likely just a lump of tissue nothing serious....which is a good thing but I have to make a choice to either live with that and have regular checks or see a surgeon and see what they recommend I guess I looking at that option as peace of mind being that I know there is a lump there....or am I just making a mountain out of a molehill???

  • I can understand it not showing on the mammogram - as that happened to me - but not the ultrasound. I had a malignant lesion show on the mammogram. After being sent for ultrasounding on both my breasts they found a further 3 lumps which have been biopsied and are small cysts. These 3 cysts did not appear on the mammogram.

My surgeon said that the breasts change through our monthly cycle so don't know if that helps.

    goodluck

  • that is very interesting indeed. I just recently had a chat to a friend who had a similar issue and she pushed them to do a biospsy and it came back as to being cancerous, so you keep on it and let us know.

    cheers

  • Hi Tam79

Mmmmm, it's very interesting while "no show" under mammo and outrasound when at least 3 people "feel" it was there.

I am intereted where will the doctor go for as Biopsy.  Keep us update

    Good luck - Rosanna
