Implant moving?

I have had my silicon implants in place now since December 2012. I now find my left breast is moving?

It seems to have moved to under my armpit slightly. It is very noticeable when i lie flat, there is a very wide space that remains flat between my breasts.

When in a bra, it seems to push out the side. Is this normal?

They were so perky not so long ago!

  • Mine have always had some movement. My sister will need surgery to correct hers and take away the pocket on the side. If its becoming painful then it's definitely something to see the dr about. Keep me posted - hope all goes well. Xxx Jeanine
  • Hi Jeanine,

Thanks for your reply, I did have a  booking with ny surgeon on the 5th december anyways, I contacted them this morning and theyve told me to wait until then to see him, but to ensure I wear a supportive bra day and night. It is becoming a bit painful now.

Can I ask what you or your sister have done as follow up, does it mean more surgery to fix this?

  • Hi Balijo I think you should be visiting your surgeon to find out what's happened. It sounds a bit like a stitch has popped. My implants move around a bit and I have a noticeable flat area when I lie on my back, but when I'm upright the implants go back to their usual position. My sister, who also had bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction, has had the same experience as you. She has been found to have an empty pocket under her left armpit and the implant has moved in and out of that. Best go and have it checked out. Hugs, Jeanine
