I'm home!!!!!

Today I found out is going home day and I'm so happy. My drains had slowed down considerably and I was feeling good. I feel the need to explain a little bit about the drain tube experience without giving away too much. It's a short and a little bit painful experience but most importantly you need to be prepared for the feeling. You can actually feel the tube coming out of you and it's surprisingly in quite a way. The pain is short and sweet but the feeling is really quite disconcerting. I wish I had of known that I would feel that odd sensation I would've been better prepared. So happy to be home and get some fresh air and some sunshine and have already had a delightful nap in my own bed. Will keep up my blog over the following weeks especially in regard to what I'm capable of doing. I'm a bit of an exercise freak which is one of the things that was stressing me about my recovery. So for others like me I'll give you some idea on what I can do week by week. More than happy to chat to anyone with questions

  • Hey Mel, yes, i just had the recent issue with the drain tubes,, 2 seperate incidents. The 1st time I had the 4 in and the nurse ripped them out 2 at a time either  side,,,she took the one that had been caning most 1st and by the time she got to  the other side of the bed, ready to attack her was an understatement lol..

had to go back in, not draining and infection, daingit, this time 2 drains, put in after more surgery to flush out around the implants,, the next nurse closed off the drain with the wee clip about 30mins before it came out. Of course I was so worked up waiting for the pain,,, the 1st one stung a little but was nothing like before, and when she did the other side, she pierced the tube with scissors to release the suction and it just fell out!!! I slept all afternoon, I think Id worked myself up into such a state my body was in shock!

    Drains, love em, lol

good luck with it all Mel
