I'M DONE.
After much thought, consideration, and a long chat with my chemo nurse, I have decided to ditch the last chemo. My body has had enough, and its telling me so. I weighed myself the other day, down ano...
Thankyou!! I spoke to 2 nurses who looked after me in hospital last time, one was 55, and stopped her chemo halfway, that was 25 years ago, one is 10 years on from ceasing it before her last treatment also, and theyre a tower of health and happiness. I guess i needed to hear someone say its ok, and you ladys have said that, and i thank you!! So far the breast nurse, chemo nurse, onco and others have said its my choice, but havent exactly agreed with it nor said do it! I think they have to go through this before they understand what WE go through!
Its funny, but i think, wow, what will i do every 21 days now? I know that every 6 weeks Ill have the port flushed, as that will stay in for awhile, and visits to my GP for the monthly blood test & results, but i know i wont be sick! After xmas i plan to go back to work, if i can, and get my ,life back to some kind of normal! My oncologists words were; " well this is'nt a prison, we're not holding you", ... i could tell by his tone he was happy, but i didnt care. As far as Im concerned, its time for the ball & chain to come off my ankle! :)
