I'm confused
Four years ago today I had the dreaded biopsy which confirmed my BC. Today I had to have a biopsy to check something seen on my US I had on Tuesday. They found something growing in my lymph nodes. Huh? What lymph nodes? They were removed. Full anxilliary clearance. Today the radiologist and the doctor both assured me I had numerous lymph nodes in my chest region. They both queried me as to the full removal and suggested maybe I only had a couple removed. The radiologist on Tuesday queried me twice as did the one from today and the doctor queried me three times. I have to wait a week to see if the lymph nodes 'which I don't have' are cancerous. My reports all show I had the full clearance three and a half years ago.

- I’m on the perjeta/herceptin regime every three weeks - my echocardiograms have been approx every three months since I started herceptin .( in case that helps ).

- Petscan complete. Write up results not yet available. Chemo starts on Monday with Paclitaxol for twelve weeks, then another catscan and petscan before starting ongoing herceptin/perjeta every three weeks. Catscan and Petscans will be done every three months to ascertain effectiveness of treatment. Not sure how frequent heart echo's will be.

- Oh @Blossom1961 what to say to you. Deep breaths. One day at a time as @noosa_blue150 said. I try to do one day at a time and mediation helps me do that. Treatment is really good now too and it is great you aren't going to be on a harsher treatment. Wishing you the very best with the next steps.
Deep breaths, @Blossom1961 xxx Hubby is also on 'control chemo' as surgery isn't an option either .... and the 'control treatment' can be ongoing for years (we've recently passed the 1 year mark) - can be adjusted up or down as needed! xx
Your Onc & team will be doing their best to give you the best treatment options available, with best quality of life as well - so get that bucket list going! xx
take care & all the best for your ongoing appointments xx- I just met with my Onco to discuss the plan. Seems I wasn't told everything previously. We are now doing control only as eradication is not feasible. The Petscan will show where the activity is but my Onco has already booked me in for the first lot of Paclitaxol. The Petscan is to confirm what they already have seen on the CT and bone scans. I may be in shock a.t.m. Just as well I am crossing one thing off my bucket list in July. Thanks @noosa_blue150, I will need to remember to do the same.
- So,sorry blossom to,hear your news . It’s news none of us ever wanted to hear and you’d been NED for quite a few years . I keep reminding myself that we MBC patients have so,many treatment options now and new ones seem to be on horizon as well. I try and take each day , one day at a time
- I just got back from the surgeon. She still needs to confer with the team but she gave me a preliminary. It looks like I will be on chemo for the rest of my life but it is not the nasty ones.Probably no surgery. And I will not be dealing with that BC nurse anymore!
