Four years ago today I had the dreaded biopsy which confirmed my BC. Today I had to have a biopsy to check something seen on my US I had on Tuesday. They found something growing in my lymph nodes. Huh? What lymph nodes? They were removed. Full anxilliary clearance. Today the radiologist and the doctor both assured me I had numerous lymph nodes in my chest region. They both queried me as to the full removal and suggested maybe I only had a couple removed. The radiologist on Tuesday queried me twice as did the one from today and the doctor queried me three times. I have to wait a week to see if the lymph nodes 'which I don't have' are cancerous. My reports all show I had the full clearance three and a half years ago.

I just got back from the surgeon. She still needs to confer with the team but she gave me a preliminary. It looks like I will be on chemo for the rest of my life but it is not the nasty ones.Probably no surgery. And I will not be dealing with that BC nurse anymore!

So,sorry blossom to,hear your news . It’s news none of us ever wanted to hear and you’d been NED for quite a few years . I keep reminding myself that we MBC patients have so,many treatment options now and new ones seem to be on horizon as well. I try and take each day , one day at a time

I may be wrong, but I thought an axillary clearance referred to lymph nodes in the armpit only. People have hundreds of lymph nodes in the body. I had eight or nine clearly swollen nodes and a further eight nodes were removed (17 in all). But I am not sure that was all of them, in the arm/breast area, just the ones that looked suspicious and the ones next to them. Here’s hoping there is no problem, all except one of my very suspicious looking nodes turned out tobe benign. Best wishes.

Wow @Blossom1961 that must have been a shock. Fingers crossed for your results. While very different 30 years ago I had a sore throat and dr told me I had tonsillitis. What the? I had my tonsils out at as a child but they somehow grew half back. It's all very strange. Never had tonsillitis again. Hope you can keep busy to distract yourself till those results come back. Results are partially back. I have cancer again. Tomorrow I am having a full body scan.
