Everyone wants their doctor to be compassionate, but what I need most of all is leadership
Found this interesting article in the American Cancer Network which I want to share.
The Seven Traits of...
Hi Piak,
i know where you are coming from, I am disappointed with 2 of my 3 primary doctors. I feel I have no choice as I live in the country, apart from driving 6 hours to the city for every visit. At this stage I am having 3 monthly bloods and Doctor appointments. I had a quiet a few questions for my chemo oncologist which he brushed aside as questions for my GP, I can tell you I was pissed off as I think they are Chemo & tamoxifen side effects that I wanted to discuss. These are the drugs that he gave me so he should have the answers! What is a person to do? I would like to give these appointments a miss as a waste of tax payers money but you never know and it is hard to ver off the path when doctors have such athority over your treatment.
I did give my first surgeon the flick and am so thankful I did, my surgeon tickets all the boxes above thank goodness. You have to have absolute confidence at least in your primary carer. Don't get me started on the other one!
I hope they don't read this site!?
regards to all the BC troopers
