hi jo,
two total knee replacements and now, grade 2, invasive ductal BC;a lot to cope with, for you at the moment.
have you had surgery yet? do you have to go back and have more nodes out?
it is all so new and scary and a lot out of your control. but if you get info from breast nurse, surgeon, and my journey kit etc it can help you feel you are making the best choices perhaps.
take someone with you when you see the surgeon. you will still be in " shock " and not always take everything in.
take it " day by day" , just try and keep some calmness too, even if only for some periods in the day. you cannot change anything at the moment. it is your worst nightmare come true.
but..there is hope. good treatments based on scientific research is what happens, so keep some hope too.
young children..i had a son 10 and a daughter 14. my son at 10 thought he had caused the cancer. ( for some reason) must have been his age. i told him.. no you did not cause it.. it happens for different reasons. a small part is genetic, also being female, science is still working out the reasons mostly.
take care of yourself for now.. and see if you can get into surgeon earlier.. if possible.. they do have cancellations as tonya said.
i waited about 5 weeks after diagnosis from biopsy.. until surgery. it gives you time to think too and get some resolve perhaps.
thinking of you.. kathy.
