If you have chemo, the week after is a write- off. You may be able to work for the next few weeks until you go for the next lot. I would suggest if you are eligible for Centrelink benefits to go on them for the chemo period if you can. While doing chemo be really vigalant about germs. If you get anything you can't fight it because the chemo is busy killing any new cells. I was determined I was going to keep doing my gym, weights,walking but was flat out doing 5 mins on the treadmill some days. Made myself go into my garden every day but sometimes only lasted 15 mins. If you are in a major centre then you will be able to go in for radiation-choose your time late in the day if you are going to work. An early appt doesn't always work if they are running behind or a machine breaks down. You will start to feel pretty tired towards the end of radiation.
i did some kitchen hand/waitressing (not my usual wor) work a couple of times when doing chemo which I enjoyed-didn't have to think , not stressful
Try and reduce your stress as much as possible so you can focus all your energies on being as well as you can.
