Hi Wendy
Yes I have inflammatory breast cancer. I was diagnosed 22 October 2010, almost 6 weeks ago. I am going through chemo now, so it has only just begun for me. It is a very scary time for me a...
Hi Wendy,
Probably be my last post till I get back from fossicking. Hubby flew out this afternoon and now its getting the last off the packing for the big expedition.
Keep the brush going and get hubby to do little tappies with the fingers like he plays the piano fast on your arm and chest wall from the side off the lymph node removal too the other side. (so relaxing i fell asleep not long after). My hubby did that for me before I went to bed most nights and on nights when he was not there i did it myself. Gets the circulation going. Raise your arms above your head during the day. Use a wall and work your way up. stretch. The physio might show you that. I did not end up doing physio. Got given sheet of exercises whilst in hospital and then it was upto me and hubby.
At night I would stretch my arm behind my head- till it just hurt. I held it for a count off 20 and slowly worked it where I now can lie with my arms behind my head and have the movement. Took months. It was an awesome feeling when I was able to lie in bed and have both arms under my head.
I did not have any post surgical issues that I can remember, except for drain blocking a couple off times. Painful experience that. After that drain came out that is when i started my brushing and stroking. I have not had to do any brushing or stroking and have had no issues with fluid build up.
Well, hopefully this has helped. let me know how it goes in a months time. I would be surprised if you had no change. The whole idea off the brush is to move off fluid and get circulation going. Should see a difference after doing that a couple off times.
Be great to hear that you have improvement in that area.
