I have IBC
Hi Wendy
Yes I have inflammatory breast cancer. I was diagnosed 22 October 2010, almost 6 weeks ago. I am going through chemo now, so it has only just begun for me. It is a very scary time for me a...
HI everyone
Thanks for the messages. It is good to read what others are going through post-treatment and I can relate to everything you are feeling in regards to reconstruction and early menopause. I have been told I won't be able to have breast reconstruction for at least 3 years after treatment has been completed. I'm now half way through treatment and it is the last thing on my mind, but still it is on my mind. I hate having one boob and I am medium-large in size, so it is very unbalanced. I know I have a way to go before having reconstruction but I think about it a lot. My husband is wonderful and supportive although it still is very difficult on our relationship. Most days I feel like a freak, well that's a bit harsh but I feel very unattractive most days - no hair, one boob, weight gain, lethargy, no sex drive, moody, depressed and the list goes on. Even though I won't be in treatment forever, I know many of these side effects will stay on board post-treatment due to going on hormone drugs because I'm ER+.
Can I ask how many of you got clear margins after your surgery? This worries me a lot as I did not get clear margins.
Hoping everyone is having a great week. I am feeling good this week as I'm 2 weeks out from my last chemo. My next cycle is next week so I'm not looking forward to that at all, but only two more cylces to go.
Hugs to all
Paula
